Compare the total you will actually pay
A headline rental price is only useful when you know what it includes. Bin and Gone's approved package is $499 before tax, plus $64.87 Ontario HST, for a total of $563.87 CAD. The Canada Revenue Agency lists Ontario's HST rate as 13%. The package covers the 1 ton minimum and seven days, with delivery, pickup and fuel included.
When comparing another quote, ask for the complete price and its written scope. A lower headline might describe a different rental period, weight arrangement or service. Compare the same project and materials before drawing a conclusion. These are Bin and Gone's confirmed rates, not a survey of every Durham provider.
Weight and space answer different questions
A bin can look partly empty and still contain substantial weight. Furniture and loose packaging create different planning problems from dense renovation debris. The illustrated size comparison helps you discuss space, while the weight terms help you understand the price. Neither replaces material approval or the loading instructions for the actual bin.
Each additional ton is $200 plus $26 HST, or $226 total. The package plus one additional ton totals $789.87 CAD. This whole-ton example is arithmetic, not a prediction of your load. Partial-ton billing and rounding rules need confirmation.
Decide who will do the loading
Customer-loaded rental means the team delivers and collects the bin, while you arrange the loading of approved items. Budget your own time and suitable help before choosing this service. A seven-day rental can support staged sorting, but it does not include a crew carrying furniture from the house.
Crew-loaded removal has a separate assessment and estimate in Orono, Newcastle, Bowmanville and Courtice. Oshawa is customer-loaded rental only. If stairs, awkward items or limited help are the main difficulty, explain that before choosing a rental.
Confirm the materials before estimating the bill
Prepare a plain list: furniture, shelving, carpet, wood or other items you expect to remove. Identify any heavy or unusual materials separately. Acceptance is reviewed case by case. Bin and Gone excludes cinder blocks, chemicals and hazardous materials; concrete is not automatically approved.
Durham Region publishes separate guidance for household hazardous waste, including paints, solvents, batteries and propane tanks. That municipal guidance does not make those items acceptable in a rental bin. Checking the correct route before loading helps avoid mixing excluded items into an otherwise suitable project.
Five questions to settle before delivery
Send the town, project list, preferred dates and proposed placement together. This gives the team useful information for reviewing the rental. Mention a shared driveway, narrow approach or limited parking early, because a suitable bin also needs a workable delivery and collection location.
- Is this material list approved for the rental?
- Which available bin suits the project and the access?
- What loading limits apply to these particular materials?
- Are the requested delivery and collection dates available?
- What are the confirmed terms if extra time or a partial-ton calculation is needed?
Keep the project focused
Make keep, donate and remove decisions before the bin arrives. Avoid treating extra space as a reason to add items that were never reviewed. If the scope changes from household clutter to a renovation load, contact the team before loading the new materials.
Send your town, removal list, dates and driveway picture. The website can prepare a text draft. You review and send it through your own app; preparing it does not reserve a bin.
Common questions
Is HST already included in $563.87?
Yes. The confirmed total is $499 plus $64.87 Ontario HST. Seven days, delivery, pickup and fuel are included in that package for the 1 ton minimum.
Does the rental price include loading labour?
No. This is customer-loaded bin rental. Crew-loaded removal has a separate assessment and estimate where that service is offered.
What does another ton cost?
Each additional ton is $226 CAD including HST. Ask how your particular load will be assessed, because partial-ton and rounding terms are not established here.
Can I keep the bin longer than seven days?
Ask before booking or changing the pickup plan. Extra time, availability and extension charges require confirmation; no additional-day price is published in this guide.
