Quick answer

Should I choose junk removal or a mini-bin?

Choose full-service junk removal when you want the crew to lift, load and remove the agreed items. A mini-bin may suit a self-managed project only if a suitable option is currently available and its placement, materials, timing, loading responsibilities and total price are confirmed. Compare the complete scope, not only the advertised starting price.

  • Specific project details still need confirmation.
  • Price, timing and handling details are confirmed for your project.
  • Official local rules should be checked when they affect the choice.

Three questions to ask

01

Who will load?

Full-service removal includes crew lifting and loading for agreed items. Customer-loaded bin rental means you load approved items and the team delivers and collects.

02

Where can it sit?

A mini-bin needs a suitable approved location. Clarington does not allow waste bins to be stored on the road.

03

What is the full scope?

Compare labour, timing, accepted materials, placement, pickup arrangements and the confirmed total, not a headline price alone.

Placement matters

Keep the bin off the road.
Confirm the site first.

Clarington's official roadway guidance says waste bins and construction equipment are not allowed to be stored on the road. Bin and Gone must review the property, access and proposed placement before confirming whether a mini-bin option fits.

  • Identify a private-property placement option and clear access
  • Confirm surface, overhead clearance and nearby obstacles
  • Review accepted materials and loading responsibilities before booking
  • Use Clarington's current roadway guidance for any right-of-way question

Discuss my project
Does Bin and Gone currently rent mini-bins?

Yes. Customer-loaded bin rental is offered in the four core communities and Oshawa. The approved package is $563.87 CAD including HST for the 1 ton minimum, seven days, delivery, pickup and fuel. Each additional ton is $226 including HST. Confirm the available bin, materials, access and dates before booking.

Which costs less: junk removal or a bin rental?

There is no reliable one-size-fits-all answer. Full-service pricing includes crew handling for the agreed scope, while a bin project may involve your labour plus confirmed placement, timing and material terms. Compare written details for the same amount of material and work before deciding which option delivers better value for your project.

Do I need a permit to place a bin in Clarington?

Clarington says waste bins cannot be stored on the road and roadway occupancy is subject to municipal rules. Plan for private-property placement wherever possible and do not assume a permit makes road storage acceptable. Ask the Municipality about any right-of-way question and have the proposed site reviewed before booking.
